Electromyography

Electromyography is the technique of recording the electrical activity of muscles. This signal called an electromyogram is used in research and in clinical diagnosis to understand how muscles are used and to detect abnormalities.

Sagatech has developed specialized amplification and filtering circuitry to detect and quantify electrical activity from muscles. This knowledge comes from having participated directly in basic research using electromyography.

Electromyography devices designed and constructed by Sagatech have been used in clinical research of bruxism which is the grinding of teeth during the night. It is related to sleep apnea but the relationship is an area of active research.

The same electromyography system is part of the Remmers Snoresat Sleep Recorder and is used in the clinical diagnosis of periodic limb movement.
